Book a Course

Pre-Course Requirements

On selecting the “Book a Course” option you will be asked to fill out a Pen Picture that will be used to assess your suitability for that course. If we feel a different course would be more suitable, you will be contacted to discuss alternative options, or a full refund is available.

Please note these pre-course requirements:

• Wilderness First Responder (WFR): Participants are required to hold a 16-hour basic first aid certificate or equivalent.
• Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT): Participants are required to hold a Wilderness First Responder certificate or equivalent and be a competent provider of medical care. Please feel free to discuss your background and prior experience and we will happily advise on the best course for you.
• Wilderness Physician (WP): Participants are required to be physicians, and supply their registration number.

Booking Process

For Scottish and Welsh Courses, please book below. A deposit of £250 will be due on application and the final payment will be required 8 weeks before the course starts.

For Irish courses, please contact Ireland@WEMSI-International.org A deposit of €500 will be due on application and the final payment will be required 12 weeks before the course starts.

We offer a 10% charities discount for the Scottish and Welsh courses, please contact us for more details. Only one discount will apply and the discount will be applied to the final payment. As and when a course becomes full, potential candidates can be added to a waiting list.  This list will be accessed if places become available.  Candidates on the waiting list will also be informed of other upcoming courses.

Booking Terms and Conditions

Booking Conditions:

• A deposit is required at the time of booking to secure a place.
• The balance is required no later than eight weeks prior to the course date
• Amendments to course dates and bookings will incur a £25 administration fee.
• Payment can be made by PayPal or Bank Transfer
• The client is responsible for any charges associated with the chosen payment method.

Cancellation:

• By the Client:
  • Any cancellations should be notified to WEMSI by email; we will confirm your written cancellation on receipt of the email.
  • Cancellations more than 8 weeks prior to the course date will incur a £50 administration fee.
  • Cancellations made within 8 weeks of the course date will be liable for 50% of the full fee.
  • Cancellations made within 4 weeks of the course date will be liable for 100% of the full fee.

  • WEMSI-International will endeavour to deliver all courses as planned; however, if we must cancel the course due to operational reasons you will be offered either:
    • • A full refund of the course costs paid to WEMSI-International Ltd
      • Alternate dates at a mutually convenient time.
        

Force Majeure

WEMSI-International shall have no liability whatsoever in respect of any delay or failure in delivery of any of the courses or of any of the company’s other obligations due directly or indirectly to any cause whatsoever outside the reasonable control of the company including but not limited to act of God, war, invasion, rebellion, riot, civil commotion, disorder, malicious damage, fire, flood, epidemic, quarantine restriction, strikes or other industrial disputes, unusually severe weather or energy supplies.

Accommodation and Transport:

The majority of WEMSI-International courses are Residential. If you are unsure though, please do clarify. If a non-residential place has been booked, then students are responsible for finding their own accommodation and transport to and from the course venue.
